The
Sustainable Development Division (SDD) launched a series
of roving exhibitions in April and May 2002 in Admiralty,
Shatin, Wong Tai Sin and Causeway Bay. The theme of the
exhibition was "Building a Sustainable City".
The aims of the exhibitions were to:
- introduce the concept of sustainable development to
the general public;
- report on Government's efforts and initiatives in promoting
sustainable development in Hong Kong;
- illustrate the contributions by business, social and
environmental sectors towards building a sustainable community;
- seek public support and participation in achieving sustainable
development in Hong Kong.
The
exhibition highlighted how individuals could help build a
sustainable city and demonstrated how the quality of life
could be enhanced through adopting sustainable development
principles. Inter-active display tools, e.g. computers and
mini-games formed part of the exhibition.
